As you can imagine, blind users do not see the contents of a webpage like sighted users do. Instead, they rely on screen readers to read out the content. Unlike sighted people who mainly navigate the contents of a website with mouses and trackpads, visually impaired people rely on keyboards to navigate contents of a web page.
Accessible design is the need for websites to utilize tools and technologies developed to aid the perception, understanding, contribution, navigation, and interaction of a person with disabilities on the site. Integrating accessibility can seem intimidating to those that are just getting acquainted with it, but it is a vital element of user experience.
